In the Chapter Leadership “Sweet 16” monthly meetings, presidents and vice presidents continue to engage their members virtually through education and live presentations during quarterly and annual conferences. The Chapters also share their virtual events on the GAPNA Exchange. Anna Boone, ANP-BC PhD, recently shared her pearls and pitfalls of hosting a virtual event. This information is included in the Chapter Conference resource kit (Please note this toolkit is accessible by chapter leaders only).

Information on the progress of the Moving Forward Coalition, its seven action plan committees, and how to join the movement are shared. PA and Michigan are the first target states to test some action plans.

Abby Luck Parrish, DNP, APN-BC, Chair of the Health Affairs Committee, queried the leaders on their ideas on the best way to engage students. She will share the ideas at the following HA committee.

Jennifer Kim, DNP, GNP-BC, GS-C, FNAP, FAANP, Past President, asked the leaders how Chapters can coordinate on “GAPNA Gives Back” ideas for those in need. Jenny will share comments with the Board.

The group continues working on the Student Mentorship Toolkit to help Chapters plan for this event. Despite some challenges in recruiting members to take on leadership positions, the Chapter leaders keep their Chapters together. I look forward to another great year inspired by GAPNA Chapter Leaders.

Best,

Michelle Moccia DNP, ANP-BC, GS-C
Chapter Leadership Committee Chair
