Conference Preparations Are Underway!

By Tomika Williams

The Research Committee has already begun preparing for GAPNA’s Annual Conference this year in San Diego, CA. We are excited to again present the Research Cash Cab (based on the television show “Cash Cab”) for attendees to come “ride with us” and learn about research-related topics while having fun!

The Research Booth will also be available to all conference attendees in the exhibit hall and we encourage members to visit, meet the Research Committee members, and inquire about current or potential research or quality improvement efforts. Providing research support is one committee goal and the Annual Conference is a perfect opportunity to initiate and deepen collaborations for our future work. Come see us!

Assessing Research Capacity

The Research Committee has also been working on determining GAPNA members’ research capacity to better support our members based on their needs. We have had several robust discussions on how to define and assess research capacity. This conversation is ongoing, and we welcome insights or feedback from our members.

Committee Celebrations

Research Committee member Dr. Valerie Flattes was recently named the inaugural Associate Dean for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at The University of Utah College of Nursing. We are so proud of Dr. Flattes on this new appointment.
