A Resource for You: Historical Committee Liaisons
By Cindy Gerstenlauer

Historical Committee members would like to serve as liaisons to GAPNAs Chapters, Committees, and SIGS. We can be a resource to you to help you maintain your records, upload documents and photos to the GAPNA Exchange, know what documents to keep, and plan for archiving. The liaison would like to attend at least one meeting as a meet & greet; additional meetings are optional. Once a liaison is assigned, Meghan Cash will grant access to the group’s records on the Exchange so the liaison can follow them.

We know that many Chapters use ENP as their website, but GAPNA cannot help with ENP in any way. GAPNA has already invested in GAPNA Exchange and can also serve as a resource to you. GAPNA Exchange has an unlimited capacity to store records in the cloud, so it is a safe and smart way to store records and make them accessible to the group’s membership. You do not have to wonder where your records are. Any member can upload records, but you may want to consider assigning a person to handle this responsibility. The GAPNA Exchange can also be used to communicate with your members or a wider GAPNA membership as appropriate.

Every chapter, committee, and SIG has its own page on the GAPNA Exchange. If there are no entries in a community’s library, the group has not uploaded anything to their GAPNA Exchange page yet. Your liaison can help you start this process. GAPNA also has resources for using the Exchange like this video https://youtu.be/H_fTq0O4r1Q and Help/FAQs - Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (gapna.org).
