Beyond the Medicare Annual Wellness Visit - January 25, 2018, 4 – 5 PM EST
The Medicare Annual Wellness Visit (AWV) remains an underutilized copay-free visit available to patients: in 2014, only 15% of eligible patients received an AWV. Despite this overall underutilization, approximately 40% of primary care clinicians reported performing an AWV in 2014.Designed as a trigger for the detection of common medical conditions in older patients, little guidance is provided about the next steps to consider for issues detected.
A free webinar titled “Beyond the Medicare Annual Wellness Visit ” will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 4 PM until 5 PM EST.
This webinar will review elements of the AWV with options for required screening elements. Models of implementation of the Wellness visits in a variety of practices will be presented. Finally, recommendations for resources available to address detected conditions which are available in most regions will be addressed.
The speakers for the program are Mary Ann Forciea, MD, MACP, Clinical Professor of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Health System, and Linda Schreiber Williams, MSN, CRNP, who is leading the implementation of the AWV in the Division of Geriatric Medicine.
