Congratulations Dr. Duyser!
GAPNA Great Lakes Chapter recognized Dr. Bethany Duyser as the Excellence in Leadership award recipient at their February educational meeting in Grand Rapids. Dr. Duyser has been a volunteer member of the steering and planning committee of the Kent County Elder Abuse Coalition. She spoke at their 2024 conference, “Identifying Elder Abuse in a Clinical Encounter,” and in 2023, she presented “Ending Elder Abuse and the Role of the APRN.” at their 16th Annual Conference.
She is an active member of the Michigan State Moving Forward National Coalition, providing insight into statewide initiatives to build, professionalize, and improve the work of direct care workers supporting older adults and people with disabilities. Dr. Duyser is the Assistant Director of IMPART Alliance, supporting programs addressing the direct care workforce through advocacy, research, and training. Responsibilities include curriculum development, adult-learner instruction, and continuous improvement of programs.
Dr. Duyser is a member of the GLC annual conference committee seeking speakers, organizing the call for posters that includes the development of the announcement and graphic, reaching out to schools of nursing, reviewing abstracts, reaching out to poster presenters regarding acceptance followed by communication of registration and accreditation process.
Dr. Duyser also received the GAPNA Health Affairs Scholarship Award in 2023.
