Read more...On April 3, at the direction of President Trump, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), in consultation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), issued critical recommendations to state and local governments, as well as nursing homes, to help mitigate the spread of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in nursing homes. The recommendations build on and strengthen recent guidance from CMS and CDC related to the effective implementation of longstanding infection control procedures.

Read more...The CARES Act was signed into Law on 3/27/20 giving NPs, CNS and PAs authority to order, sign for, Certify and Re-Certify patients for Medicare Home Health. Implementation of this Law will allow Advance Practice Providers the latitude to provide more timely services to patients and their families without unnecessary delays and cumbersome practice barriers.
Read more...In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, 14 national organizations reaffirm that all nurse practitioner (NP) students are required to complete a minimum of 500 supervised direct patient care clinical hours over the course of the NP program. In addition, clinical hours are distributed to support competency development that represents the needs of the chosen population.
